Furniture directly from website to work station

The designer furniture company R. Randers A/S has recently launched a new website, http://www.r-randers.dk/. As one of the first furniture manufacturers in Denmark, the company has made use of the so-called i-Drop system. This system makes it extremely easy for architects, designers and other professionals working with interior design to download the drawings of R. Randers’ furniture series' directly to their own design programs.

“I-Drop allows you to download exactly those pieces of furniture you would like to view in the interior design you are working on. It also features a drag-and-drop system, making it even easier to transfer the furniture illustrations,” explains Tinna Nonbye Erikstrup, R. Randers A/S

Overall, the new website is a true treasure box of information with descriptions of the furniture collections and the designers behind the products, such as the British company Foster and Partners and Danish designers Hans Thyge, Friis & Moltke Design and Arkitema. It also offers information about the company, its philosophy and employees, as well as concrete and specific facts about each individual piece of furniture – dimensions, weight, volume, colours, materials etc.

“We have chosen to create a website which offers inspiration and general information as well as quick access to details about our products. This way it becomes an effective tool for the users,” says Tinna Nonbye Erikstrup.

The new website was launched on 1 May 2007.
